Geeking out

I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been able to post some of the cool things I’ve found online lately, so here’s a wrap up of all the stuff I’ve been meaning to share. Note: won’t let me embed videos that aren’t on YouTube (lame, I know), so some of these are just links to the coolness.

First, we have Sillof’s Workshop, which designs Steampunk versions of run-of-the-mill action figures. The latest collection are characters from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. All of the designs are incredible, as usual, but Boba Fett and the Snowtrooper blew me away. Have a look:

For fellow word nerds out there, watch Font Conference, a look at what might happen if fonts were real people. In the immortal words of Wing Dings, “Mailbox! Mailbox! Mailbox!”

Next up is an amazing art project called Inner City Snail, where someone has painted snails’ shells and taken their photos. Stunning, if weird, work:

In Jedi Gym, a former swordplay trainer opens a gym to train would-be jedi. Not kid-friendly despite the Star Wars spoof-type content.

Last, Super Mario’s enemies rebel against Bowser’s seemingly arbitrary limitations on their actions in Bowser’s Minions.
