KU vs. Villanova and beyond
The Jayhawks play the Wildcats tomorrow night, and I can’t wait. I was surprised initially that KU was seeded No. 1 in the Midwest region — that seemed like too high a seed until I saw how weak the rest of the region seemed (at least on paper). But the ‘Hawks stomped a good — but out of its league — Portland State team (led by a 5’6″ point guard from none other than Salem) and followed it up with a solid win over UNLV.
So here comes Villanova, which has done better than I had expected by making it this far. But now it’s time for the Wildcats to step aside. If the Jayhawks win Friday and again Sunday, they likely will face the University of North Carolina, whose coach used to be with KU. I’ve never forgiven Roy Williams for dumping our team, and I hope KU beats the tar out of the Tar Heels. Rock, chalk, Jayhawk. KU!
