Read of the week: The Week magazine
I don’t evangelize much, but as many of my friends and family know I love The Week magazine. I am a news junkie — difficult not to be when you have a print journalism degree — and have subscribed to this weekly news magazine since it arrived in the United States back in 2001.
The concept is simple: The magazine summarizes the week’s news from using snippets from columns and editorials from U.S. and international media. It gives both the conservative and liberal views, and it often includes “what’s next” for the most important news of the week.
The Week is a quick read — I usually finish it in about two hours — and usually arrives Friday or Saturday every week, giving me the weekend to catch up on the what is going on around the world. I managed to hook my parents and get them subscriptions every year for Christmas.
